Philadelphia Dental Spa
Comfort with Advanced Technology
First, we want you to be comfortable. Second, we want to provide you with quality, effective, and painless dentistry. At our dental office, we strive to make you feel pampered and special. Sure, we offer paraffin hand dips and massages at each dental chair. But that is not all we are about.
We think it is important to keep up with the latest developments and equipment in dentistry today because we see that as our mission on your behalf. For example, we stopped using the old-fashioned X-ray machine. The new digital radiography machine allows us to take radiographs (X-rays) with up to 75 percent less radiation for our patients.
We also see it as our mission to take the guesswork out of dentistry. We want you to be comfortable and know what to expect. Wondering what your smile will look like after the work is done? We can show you. After we take a picture of your current smile, we do several calculations on the computer concerning the balance and symmetry of your face to design the best smile possible. Then we let the computer do its magic, and in minutes, we have an excellent simulation of what your new smile will look like. We want you to take the picture of your beautiful new smile home to show it to your family and friends.
Philadelphia Advanced Dental Technology:
The Cadent iTero digital impression system is dentistry gone 3-D. With iTero, your dentist takes a highly accurate digital impression for your crown or bridge area, completely eliminating the uncomfortable tray and putty impression. What's more, iTero technology all but guarantees a perfect fit for your new crown or bridge, so you spend less time at the dentist's office and more time enjoying your new smile.
It's the first computer-controlled local dental anesthetic system where just one injection at a single tooth is all that's needed to scientifically, safely and predictably ensure single-session injection precision.
This excellent tool enables us to view the inside of your mouth on a screen, providing a clear and detailed view of any problems (and anything that’s doing great!). Best of all, you get to see it yourself.
The latest oral cancer screening device to help diagnose this deadly disease. The Identafi 3000 uses three different wavelengths of light to excite oral tissue in distinct and unique ways. Biochemical changes can be observed with fluoresence, while morphological changes can be observed with reflectance. This multiple wavelength technology identifies abnormal tissue with more accuracy than a single color wavelength. This three wavelength optical illumination system allows your dentist to catch early cancers that are not visible to the naked eye.
Laser light is beamed beneath the hard enamel layer and reflected back to a handheld device. The laser beam makes it possible to measure the decay lurking below the tooth enamel.
Picasso Diode Laser
Our office puts patient comfort at the forefront of all procedures. With that in mind, we are now using our Picasso diode laser to perform many procedures that previously required scalpels, sutures and had long healing times. Now with this state-of-the-art technology, in many cases we are able to perform the same procedure with little or no anesthesia, no scalpels or sutures and greatly enhanced healing times. Some of the more popular procedures we are now using this tool for are:
- Correcting gingival (gum) contours to create that perfect smile
- Removing various oral lesions and pathology (biopsy)
- Releasing tongue ties (ankyloglossia) and muscle attachments that cause gum recession
- Treatment of apthous ulcers, herpetic lesions (cold sores) and root sensitivity
With this technology, an X-ray is taken of your mouth with a digital sensor and downloaded into our computer, where it is immediately available. We can also view your entire mouth in one shot, including the upper and lower jaws, with panoramic digital images. These methods result in 75% less radiation than conventional X-rays. No more waiting for images to develop and no more chemical waste to pollute the environment.
